Gosh, I do remember that. I was the very one who wiped my own sister’s life-gore off the doorframe. You’d think that would stay with me. Interesting.

I do, aktually. Our flat abounds in cupboards. The one in which resides the gas meter, spare lightbulbs, 3M hooks, shoe polish and a screwdriver or two could, I feel, legitimately be known as a hardware cupboard.

If I were yon blogger, I would hang the expense and get a new carpet. Or a rug. I still remember Betty cleaning the blug off the doorframe when our dear small sister offed her thumb, and that was traumatic enough. It might have happened, but one does not wish to be reminded of it by splotches.

I came across someone’s blog the other day that was discussing the death of her father - I can’t remember the blog, I didn’t take to it - but anyway, in the middle of being all poetical and introspective and musing on Life and the Beyond she brought up the fact that her father had left a nasty stain on the carpet. It sort of killed the moment. Although I’m sure it would be a legitimately pondery bloggable issue - she was all, do I step over it? Which is like, deep, man.

Who has a hardware cupboard, really? Do *you* have a hardware cupboard?

I don’t know that I would be that fussed about someone having offed herself in the laundry. I mean, as long as there wasn’t still gobs of gore, or anything. That would be unpleasant. But otherwise, I don’t think it would particularly bother me. Less so thas roaches, anyhow.

I think flyspray goes on the laundry shelf, or in the hardware cupboard. Usually.
