Miriam Says:

Whoa. Why did she eat a nail? And how did you find out? And What Happens Next? Is it rusty?

smokering Says:

She puts things in her mouth on a regular basis, but she never swallows them. Only this time she choked and downed it by accident. I wasn’t entirely sure she had, and I didn’t know what it was - I got a glimpse of something goldish and thought it might have been a push-pin or a screw. But according to the X-ray, it’s a nail. Just a wee one, the kind one uses to put up pictures. They’re going to let it wend its way out - there was some brief talk of putting her under general and extracting it, which sounded most unpleasant, but the paediatric surgeons were all blase. There seems to be a lot of that going round the medical profession these days.

Anyway, the snortlepig remained fairly cheerful throughout. She didn’t like the doctor palpating her squish, or the X-ray itself, but she thoroughly enjoyed having drinks of water from the water cooler and drawing with a whiteboard marker on the nurse’s board and figuring out the sensor-activated taps and so on. Also, one of the nurses thought she was a boy.

That was supposed to be a ’shocked’ smiley-type thing. But it came out too happy looking.

Maybe this?
:O

Kovac Says:

I hope that it was a radioactive nail otherwise there was little benefit to having consumed it.

Do keep us informed, won’t you?
